Tras los multitudinarios conciertos de la campa\u00f1a Live8, la pregunta obvia es: \u00bfha servido para algo? Tengo opiniones ambivalentes al respecto.
\nPor un lado creo que no, que no ha servido para nada, que s\u00f3lo han sido unos conciertos donde muchos artistas se han dado un ba\u00f1o de multitudes y han quedado muy bien con sus propias conciencias. Que aunque trataban de ayudar a Africa han tenido muy poco respeto por ella, con un solo artista africano relegado a comparsa, con muchas estad\u00edsticas y muchas peticiones pero ning\u00fan hecho por parte de personas que tienen una nada desde\u00f1able influencia, dinero y poder medi\u00e1tico.
\nPor otro lado pienso que aunque el problema tenga que salir en las noticias gracias a que Geldof ha convencido a U2 para que cante una canci\u00f3n de los Beatles con Paul McCartney, pues menos da una piedra. Los m\u00fasicos hacen m\u00fasica y si con ello consiguen publicidad para un problema tan grave, bienvenido sea.
\nBuscando en la \u00abBBC\u00bb:http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/talking_point\/4642169.stm encuentro dos declaraciones de personas que asistieron a los conciertos que ilustran perfectamente el sentimiento agridulce, me permito ponerlos:<\/p>\n
I am very disappointed with the lack of coverage given by the BBC to the African artists playing for Live 8 at the Eden Project. It is most unfortunate that while on the one hand the theme is \u00abhelping Africa\u00bb the BBC, Bob Geldof and the concert organisers consistently fail to portray the positives of Africa, including ignoring the contribution that Africans can, should and are making to the Make Poverty History campaign. As an African, I find it deeply offensive that no Africans were included at Hyde Park (Youssu N’Dour shared the stage briefly with Dido) because it tells me… even those who say they want to help Africa, actually have very little respect for us as Africans.

People don’t either but governments can and they have to respond if enough people show they are behind a cause.
