An Islamist website has posted a statement – purportedly from al-Qaeda – claiming it was behind the attacks.
\nLondon’s police chief Sir Ian Blair said there had been \u00abmany casualties\u00bb but it was too early to put a figure to those killed or injured.
\nMore than 100 casualties and one of the dead were taken to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel.
\nAnd St Mary’s Hospital said it was dealing with 26 injured people, including four with critical injuries and eight in a serious condition. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Paddock ha informado de que en la primera explosi\u00f3n, registrada a las 9.49 de la ma\u00f1ana en un tren que circulaba entre las estaciones de Aldgate y Liverpool Street, han muerto siete personas. La segunda bomba ha estallado en un convoy que discurr\u00eda entre las estaciones de King’s Cross y Russell Square. Casualties

\nAt 8.51am a bomb exploded on an Metropolitan Line Underground train 100 yards into the tunnel from Liverpool Street. Seven are known to be dead.
\nAt 8.56am a bomb detonated on a Piccadilly Line train between King’s Cross and Russell Square. Twenty-one are dead.
\nAt 9.17am a bomb exploded on a Circle Line between Edgware Road Station and Paddington. The blast blew a hole in a wall, and another train hit debris from the debris from it. A third train is also involved. Five are known to be dead.
\nAt 9.47am a No. 30 bus (Hackney – Marble Arch) blew up at the junction between Tavistock Square and Woburn Place. Fatalities unknown, but eyewitnesses say at least two people have died there.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
